Evapco acquires Select Technologies to form Evapco Select Technologies.
Evapco Select Technologies will focus on developing innovative control systems for food processing and cold storage facilities to optimize performance and improve system reliability.

Evapco, a Maryland (U.S.)-based OEM and manufacturer of natural refrigerant systems, has announced the formation of Evapco Select Technologies following its acquisition of Select Technologies, a manufacturer of automation machinery based out of Belmont, Michigan.

The subsidiary will “pursue an expanding market demand for sophisticated control systems for food processing and cold storage facilities to optimize performance and improve system reliability,” according to Evapco.

“Our long-standing history of working with Select Technologies in the past on complex projects for key food processing clients puts this new partnership at a great advantage to provide new and innovative systems to the industries and markets we support,” Evapco continued.

Since 1976, Evapco has been manufacturing a range of natural refrigerant-based products, including low-charge packaged-ammonia/NH3 (R717) chillers and CO2 (R744) gas coolers, for commercial HVAC, industrial process, industrial refrigeration and power generation markets.

Select Technologies, which was founded in 1991, specializes in control, automation and IT integration for food, beverage and industrial plants, including HVAC and ammonia refrigeration systems.

Evapco Select Technologies will operate out of Select Technologies’ existing location in Belmont and will utilize Evapco’s research and development facilities in Taneytown, Maryland. The partnership will also use Evapco’s growing controls operations in Iowa, Minnesota and Pennsylvania to leverage the collective knowledge of many technical experts to offer “best in class” control systems.

This announcement follows Evapco’s acquisition of Systèmes LMP, a Canadian manufacturer of transcritical CO2-based refrigeration systems, in February 2022. Evapco Systems LMP will combine Systèmes LMP’s technology and experience with CO2 with Evapco’s established reputation, manufacturing capabilities and financial resources to accelerate CO2 market growth across North America and beyond.
