Italian HVAC&R manufacturer Enex Technologies (CCC Holdings Europe), announced on February 23 the acquisition of Spanish manufacturer EOS Refrigeration Equipment S.L.
Terms were not disclosed.
Based near Barcelona and founded in 2012, EOS manufactures stainless steel (inox)/aluminum ventilated units (evaporators, condensers, evaporative condensers, dry coolers, adiabatic coolers and cooling towers), and ammonia (R717) chillers, with an overall focus on ammonia as a natural refrigerant.
EOS’s ventilated products and ammonia heat pumps “support energy transition for heating from hydrocarbon energy to clean electric energy,” said Enex Technologies.
EOS joins Enex Technologies’ portfolio of HVAC&R manufacturers Enex, Roen Est and Emicon/Hidros/EthraTech in Italy, Arctic and Kobol in Spain, and Morgana and Samifi in France.
This acquisition of EOS will be celebrated during EuroShop 2023 in Düsseldorf, Germany, February 26–March 2, at Enex Technologies’ booth 16C75, in Hall 16 of the Dusseldorf Messe. It follows Enex Technologies’ announcement at the Chillventa show last October in Nuremberg, Germany, that it acquired Samifi France and Morgana.
Founded by refrigeration pioneer and now President Sergio Girotto in 2004, Enex has been a leading innovator in the transcritical CO2 industry.
“I am extremely happy to welcome EOS and its exceptional team of employees to our company,” said Greg Deldicque, Chairman of Enex Technologies. “The addition to Enex Technologies of such a complete portfolio of inox/aluminum ventilated units and ammonia refrigeration machines tailored for natural refrigerants aligns with our passion for offering natural and energy efficient solutions to our customers.”
“This acquisition,” continued Deldicque, “demonstrates how we are executing on our plan to acquire eight to 10 companies over 2020–2023, on our way to creating a company with over €300 million [US$317 million] in revenues. Together with EOS[‘s] existing team, Enex aspires to multiply EOS sales five-fold over the next four years. We are going to follow a process similar to the one which allowed us to triple the sales of Enex over the past two years.”
Vallina Is President of Industrial Division
Francisco Vallina, founder and CEO of EOS, has been named President of Enex Technologies Industrial Refrigeration Division, which includes EOS and Samifi France. In his new role, Vallina will work with Franck Hamelin (Samifi General Manager and COO for the Division) and of Remy Prunac (Sales Director for the Division). “I am proud to join Enex Technologies and to have the opportunity to lead Samifi and EOS,” said Vallina. “Enex Technologies is making a difference for the planet by fighting global warming and reducing carbon footprint; which inspires me to be part of it.”
Enex Technologies targets 2023 sales of over €200 million (US$211 million). It opened a new 7,500m2 (80,729ft2) factory in Treviso, Italy, in 2022, multiplying by four its manufacturing footprint, and is now building what it calls the largest research laboratory in Europe for products using natural refrigerants, for a total investment of over €10 million (US$10.6 million).
Last November, Enex reported that four of its CO2 heat pump units were installed as part of a four-pipe stand-alone transcritical CO2 system at a hotel spa resort in Sicily to provide space heating and air-conditioning, as well as domestic hot water for hotel guests.
“The addition to Enex Technologies of such a complete portfolio of inox/aluminum ventilated units and ammonia refrigeration machines tailored for natural refrigerants aligns with our passion for offering natural and energy efficient solutions to our customers.”
