Colmac Coil, US-based leader in the design and manufacturing of custom evaporators, is joining as a Bronze partner. Unique tube and fin patterns paired with a wide range of materials allow Colmac Coil to meet the needs of virtually any food processing application: cooking, chilling, and freezing. Colmac is able to work closely with original equipment manufacturers and installing contractors to meet the most stringent requirements.

Colmac Coil anti-microbial coil construction actively kills pathogens such as E-coli, Listeria monocytogenes, and Salmonella, which come in contact with the fins. Colmac Coil’s 3-A sanitary design evaporators for the dairy industry have been inspected by the USDA (US Department of Agriculture) and approved for use in the cheese processing industry. Whether retrofitting old equipment or installing new, Colmac Coil can custom design a chilling or freezing coil using any working fluid in a variety of configurations. Coils can be arranged for ammonia systems such as: gravity flooded, pumped, or direct expansion (DX).

Colmac Coil Aircoil™ Evaporators features
  • Available in five different styles, each suitable for a variety of industrial and process room applications.
  • Designed and manufactured according to the stringent requirements of ASME B31.5 (2001).
  • Pressure tested to 350 psig with air under water.
  • Units are shipped with a nitrogen holding charge.
  • Constructed with 0.875" diameter stainless steel, aluminum, or galvanized steel tubes, staggered in the direction of airflow to ensure maximum air turbulence and coil heat transfer efficiency.

Die-formed, flat pattern fins are a continuous design with a clean full collar to optimize performance, resistance to airflow, and cleanliness. The flat pattern also reduces resistance to airflow, providing performance comparable to corrugated fins at a given horsepower. Each coil is individually circuited for specific applications in recirculated, flooded, direct expansion, or control pressure receiver refrigeration systems along with water, glycols, or brines.
